Speaking for Change was started in 2008. The goal was to engage students in meaningful dialog about how to improve their success as individuals, communities, and organizations – in essence, how to change for the better.
The theme behind the change we talk about is changing towards “meaningful success.” That is, while the status quo conditions us to chase success, we often lose the sight of meaning.
Meanwhile, you may wonder, so can I have both meaning and success? I think the answer must be “yes.” We live in a capitalistic society, and with all its advantages and flaws – if we want to have an impact in the world, we are going to have to achieve the traditional types of success.
The goal here is to thus find types of success that are meaningful to each individual and find out how to pursue it.
Hence, our tagline.
At this site you’ll find articles around that topic, our book, Homework to Hired, and of course, you can learn about inviting me to speak if your group is interested in having a speaker present these ideas.
